Belgrade diplomatic action started to remove features of Kosovo’s independence from the election material. Dacic: It is not good to impose symbols of the so-called state that we do not recognize.

Serbia conducts a comprehensive diplomatic initiative for status neutral election material for voting in Kosovo, which is in line with the Brussels agreement.

This confirmed to Novosti, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, the day before the official start of the election campaign in the province:

- Serbs have a good will to participate in the elections, but they should not be imposed with symbols of state that they do not recognize.

For the parliamentary race, which starts today, reported thirty lists including five Serbian. Quite a stir among the parties of our compatriots, but also voters, caused the decision of the CEC of Kosovo to print the electoral materials, and the ballots with the insignia of the "Republic of Kosovo".

Serbs still do not reveal their moves if a non-existent state symbols remain.

Nenad Rikalo, Serbian member of the CEC, still believes that the decision of the authorities on the design of ballots is not final:

- Despite my opposition, at the last CEC meeting was decided that the ballots will be printed with insignia of the so-called state of Kosovo. If the decision is not changed, it will affect the turnout of Serbs on June 8^th.

Goran Rakic, Mayor of the northern Mitrovica believes that turnout will decrease primarily in the north of the province:

- We now have hope in Belgrade and the international community which can influence Pristina to change the decision on the insignia. There is still time for a reaction from Brussels, which has a chance to show that it really care for Serb participation in the political life of Kosovo, what Albanian politicians certainly do not.

Branimir Stojanovic, the first candidate for deputy of the Serbian List, says that now it is the move of the international community.

Ksenija Bozovic, the SDP-Oliver Ivanovic, expects that, despite the last decision of the CEC, the elections will be status neutral, especially in the North.

Some representatives of Serbs from the north do not exclude the possibility to "change" the ballots look, or to cover "Kosovo insignia" before the vote.
