Jevtic: Tensions should be reduced (KIM radio)

Reflecting on series of incidents and attacks on Serbs in Kosovo, Minister for Community and Return Dalibor Jevtic said that the work should be invested in reducing tensions in order to prevent escalation of problems.

“Attacks in Orahovac, fire-setting in the premises of the Serbian Orthodox Church in northern Kosovo, throwing of Molotov cocktails on a shop owned by a Serb in village Gojbulje, threats to Serbs students in Kosovo Polje and other incidents which took place in last couple days in Kosovo are causing serious concerns. Work should be invested in reducing tensions, and political leaders have the obligation to send statements and messages which would help prevent escalation of problems,” Jevtic said and reminded on clashes and Pogrom in 2004 stressing that ‘responsibility lays with all who are part of the society, media, NGOs, sport officials’.
