19 years since the kidnapping of miners in Kosovo (KIM radio)
The Association of Families of Kidnapped and Killed in Kosovo and Metohija marked the 19th anniversary of the kidnapping of nine miners of the Belaćevac mine in Kosovo in the memorial room for the Kosovo victims of the Belgrade Palace, KIM radio reported.
Director of the Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Đurić said that the state will help to create a permanent museum for all victims of wars in the territory of the former Yugoslavia.
"Nineteen years ago miners of Belacevac were kidnapped, they were kidnapped only because they were Serbs and of other nationality, by terrorists and criminals who came to take them from their jobs, and innocent to take them to unknown places, and even today their families do not know whether they are alive or dead," said Đurić.
He added that 18 years have passed since the arrival of international forces, and none of the international organizations offered an answer to what had happened to kidnapped miners.
He said that the state will always fight to find out the truth about the victims, and the perpetrators of the crime be brought to justice.
