Serbia to open embassy in Ghana this year (RTS)
Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic, who is paying an official visit to Ghana announced that Serbia would open an embassy in this country this year, RTS reports. Dacic also urged all the countries to wait for the end of Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and maintain the status-neutral position thus supporting the dialogue.
Dacic recalled that over the last period his Ghanaian counterpart Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, Assembly Speaker and Minister of Telecommunication visited Serbia and conditions were created to raise the level of relations between the two countries as they were during the Tito and Nkrumah’s time.
Dacic also pointed out the problems between Serbia and Ghana occurred in January 2012, when the latter made decision to recognize Kosovo, something that Serbia found as unexpected and surprising.
“We need to overcome this issue in order to be able to achieve cooperation as it should have been between our two countries,” Dacic said elaborating on Serbia’s decision to open the embassy.
