O’Connell: Serbs should not be afraid, no one intends to conquer north (Prva TV, KIM Radio)

UK Ambassador in Pristina, Ruairi O’Connell said Serbs in Kosovo should not be afraid of decision to establish Kosovo army, since, as he said, he believes there is no intention to use this army against them, Prva TV reports.

He also added, his country does not consider the process to be disputable, since according to him “Kosovo is independent, sovereign state, and as such it can establish armed forces if it wishes so.”

The Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kosovo, Ruairi O’Conell, told the paper that he does not support any politician and that he has several times stated openly that the political mentality should change by vote and not interference of the internationals. Despite the fact that he has signed an agreement with the Assembly President Kadri Veseli and that he was supported by the Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, when speaking about de-politization of the boards, O’Conell said that “I will continue to be suspicious on political will until something changes.”

said that  the state cannot be built or function through nepotism. O’Conell made this comment speaking about Adem Grabovci’s tapping made public recently.
