Vucic, Grasso exchange comments on action in north (Tanjug, B92, TV Pink)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said KFOR spokesperson Vincenzo Grasso with his latest statement confirmed KFOR did not inform official Belgrade about what is being prepared and happening, Tanjug news agency reported.

Grasso said earlier that anyone reading the newspapers was informed about the action. He added there were no activities directed against the Serbs on Thursday, but it was about “legitimate police units conducting the operation, that resulted in arrests of civilians and police officers of different ethnic background.”

The Russian Investigative Committee has launched a pre-investigation probe into the attack on Russian UN employee Mikhail Krasnoshchekov in Kosovo, the press service of the committee told TASS agency, Serbian media report.

"The main office of the Russian Investigative Committee has launched a probe into the incident that happened with the Russian national Mikhail Krasnoshchekov, an employee of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK)," the press service said.

NGO Human Centre Mitrovica condemns use of force in north of Kosovo, comments on KFOR (Radio kontakt plus)

Non-governmental organization Human Centre Mitrovica in the strongest terms condemned the excessive use of force against citizens in the northern municipalities by Kosovo police ROSU unit, Radio kontakt plus reported.

All 6 Serbs arrested in Zubin Potok released (Radio kontakt plus, B92)

All six Serbs detained by Kosovo police special forces on Tuesday in Zubin Potok have been were released Radio Kontakt Plus reported.

According to this, they were set free after the judge of the Basic Court in Mitrovica North, the Zubin Potok department, Ljiljana Stevanovic, refused the request of the Kosovo Prosecutor's Office to order custody. Radio Kontakt Plus said that the judge assessed that there was insufficient evidence from the prosecution to extend the detention of the Serbs, which were otherwise accused of interfering with an on duty official.

Vucic on KFOR’s statement: Not accurate (Tanjug, B92)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said the situation of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija is more difficult today than yesterday, adding KFOR military mission is not neutral at all, Tanjug news agency reports.

Asked to comment on KFOR’s spokesperson Vincenzo Grasso statement that the biggest threat to the peace in Kosovo are the rhetoric of politicians and misuse of the media, as well as “that everybody was informed in advance” about yesterday’s police action, President Vucic urged KFOR to publicly state that fact – whom they have informed.

Vecernje Novosti: “Pristina special forces lose confidential documents” (Vecernje Novosti, B92)

Kosovo police special forces made mistake during Tuesday's raid in northern Kosovo, when they arrested 19 Serbs, Belgrade-based daily Vecernje Novosti writes.

The daily said that during the operation, that resulted in the battering of about 100 persons, several commanders of the said units lost confidential documents listing the raid's operative details, along with the names and last names of police officers involved, and their phone numbers.

Bishop Teodosije: We strongly condemn the use of force in North Kosovo (Raska-Prizren Eparchy, media)

"As the Bishop of Raška-Prizren, with our clergy, monastics, and faithful people, with great concern we condemn yesterday's excessive use of force by the Kosovo Police in the north of Kosovo and Metohija," Eparchy said in statement issued yesterday.

"Regardless of the real motives of this action, beatings, breaking of furniture, incursions into houses where civilians, women and children were intimidated with unhiden brutality, demonstrate that Pristina's intent was primarily to intimidate our population and demonstrate force.

Northern Serb mayors on yesterday’s police action (TV Most, B92)

Serb representatives from the north and Office for Kosovo and Metohija, in a special TV Most broadcast last night, said the latest brutal Pristina’s action will not expel the Serbs from Kosovo, B92 reports.

Mayor of Mitrovica North Goran Rakic said that “in addition to the terror conducted by the Albanians, shooting in the back by some Serbian opposition leaders is painful.” He added Pristina’s response to any call for peace from Belgrade is “a brutal action and terror against barehanded population.”

Rada Trajkovic: Experiment with Serbs in Kosovo (Danas)

President of Serb European Movement from Kosovo and Metohija Rada Trajkovic said the arrest of police officers in the north of Kosovo was not ethnically motivated, but it was a fight against the crime that President Aleksandar Vucic should support, adding she was worried over ‘the experiment’ being conducted with the Serbs in northern Kosovo, Danas daily reports.

Trajkovic added yesterday’s police action disturbed the Serbs in the north, claiming that the Serbian President should have warned better people living there.
