CI SDP: We expect new authorities in Kosovo to uncover assassins of Oliver Ivanovic (Radio kontakt plus)

Civic Initiative Freedom, Democracy, Justice (GI SDP) in a press release urged leaders of the parties that have won elections in Kosovo and said their priority would be to fight crime and corruption, to fulfill that promise and uncover and prosecute those who have ordered and carried out the assassination of Oliver Ivanovic, Radio kontakt plus reported.

CI SDP also recalled that 21 months have passed since the leader of the party Oliver Ivanovic was murdered, and yet there are no concrete results of the investigation, and the killers have not been identified and arrested.

Civic Initiative SDP: 19 months without progress in Oliver Ivanovic’s murder investigation (BETA, TV N1)

Civic Initiative Freedom, Democracy, Justice (GI SDP) assessed today that 19 months since the murder of their leader Oliver Ivanovic, investigative bodies in Pristina only create impression they are working on the case, adding “that in Mitrovica North neither street nor a square were named after Oliver Ivanovic,” despite strong promises “of Belgrade authorities”, BETA news agency reported.

The hearing of Silvana Arsovic, long-term secretary and associate of murdered Oliver Ivanovic lasted three and a half hours yesterday in Pristina Special Prosecution, Danas daily reports.  

This is the fifth time that Arsovic, as a suspect within Olvier Ivanovic’s murder investigation, is giving a statement. At the time of Ivanovic’s murder, the surveillance cameras in his political party premises were allegedly switched off, and Kosovo police believes it was Arsovic who switched them off.

SDP: Even after 15 months no official facts on murder of Oliver Ivanovic (BETA, Danas)

Civic Initiative Freedom, Democracy, Justice (GI SDP) warned today that even after 15 months since the murder of its leader Oliver Ivanovic “there are still no official details or facts” related to this crime, Danas daily reports.

SDP recalled in the statement that Kosovo Special Prosecutor recently stated the investigation into Ivanovic’s murder is still ongoing, while the Serbian Prosecution, as the SDP said, “did not even make a statement.”

Last Saturday marked fourteen months since leader of Civic Initiative Freedom, Democracy, Justice (SDP) Oliver Ivanovic was killed in front of his party premises. Despite the fact that both Belgrade and Pristina are running investigations instigators and perpetrators of the murder remain unknown. The GI SDP party stated that “the investigation is going nowhere“ and that “someone wants the murder to be covered up and forgotten“.

CI SPD: Statement on possible war over Mitrovica irresponsible and dangerous (Danas)

Civic Initiative Freedom, Democracy, Justice (GI SDP) condemned yesterday as irresponsible and dangerous the statement of Mitrovica South mayor Agim Bahtiri “there would be war” if Mitrovica is “touched upon,” Danas daily reports.

“Northern part of Mitrovica, populated by majority Serb population has its own elected municipal assembly that should have a say and make decisions advocating for the interests of Serbian and Albanian citizens living in the northern Mitrovica, and it should be respected by everybody,” GI SDP said in a written statement.

Nikola Ivanovic, son of assassinated leader of Civic Initiative Freedom, Democracy, Justice, (GI SDP) Oliver Ivanovic, told Danas daily that entire Ivanovic’s family takes part in the protests “One in Five Million.”

Commenting on his participation in the first protest organized in Mitrovica North on Saturday, Nikola Ivanovic said “it is not only part of his family supporting the protest, they are all together in that.”

Adoption of the draft statute on Trepca mining complex represents yet another in a series of legal violence that Pristina exerts over Serbs in Kosovo, Civic Initiative, Freedom, Democracy, Justice (GI SDP) said today, Radio KIM reports.

SDP “condemns this and any other form of pressure,” adding “that this politically-legal pressure aims to create additional concerns among the citizens for their survival and existence as well as fear from the violence.”
