Norwegian envoy to Serbia: I would be surprised with Belgrade–Pristina deal in June (Beta, N1)

The Norwegian ambassador to Serbia Arne Sannes Bjørnstad said on Wednesday that Oslo would support any agreement between Serbia and Kosovo which would secure the respect of human rights and would be good for the regional stability, the Beta news agency reported.

Commenting on the media report that a deal between Belgrade and Pristina would be signed in June, the envoy said he doubted “the story was true.”

Norwegian ambassador to Belgrade, Arne Sannes Bjørnstad, told the Belgrade Danas daily on Friday that Serbia’s membership to the European Union did not depend only on a solution to the Kosovo issue, but also on the rule of law and media reforms, the FoNet news agency reported.

Bjørnstad: Internal dialogue is much more than Kosovo (Tanjug)

Internal dialogue on Kosovo represents “much more than Kosovo” Norwegian Ambassador to Serbia, Arne Sannes Bjørnstad said, adding that this dialogue could help many to understand past and future of Serbia and prepare the ground for the future, Tanjug news agency reported.

“This dialogue is what Serbia wants to be and everybody should take part in that debate”. Bjørnstad also added that civil society should have an important role in the dialogue by opening the debate for marginalized groups too.
