Pacolli: Serbia "doesn't have to say it recognized Kosovo" (Deutche Welle, Tanjug, B92)

Kosovo Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli said in an interview with Deutsche Welle (in Serbian) that Serbia "does not have to say that it recognizes Kosovo." It only has to "act like that," he said.

Pacolli argued that "the reality is that Serbia can influence the region", that Kosovo has "a long border with Serbia" and that in Pristina they want to have "good relations with Serbia."

US administration "denied Thaci's and Haradinaj's claims" (Tanjug)

Pristina's claim that possible future US involvement in dialogue with Belgrade is a proposal coming from the official US administration is "incorrect," Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, who in Washington, told Voice of America, Tanjug reports today.

"The things that Thaci and Haradinaj are saying have been denied by the US administration. They even told (EU foreign policy chief) Federica Mogherini that they were not standing behind (Pristina's) statements," Dacic said.

Dacic: Stability in Balkans requires common Serbia-US interest (B92)

Ivica Dacic says his message in Washington this week was that there is no stability in the Balkans unless the US finds a common interest with Serbia.

The Serbian foreign minister and first deputy PM noted that the US "has some policy of its own, and is interested in the Russian influence in the region".

For the sake of stability in the region, the US should seek a minimum common of interests with our country, Dacic told RTS.

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic says he does not believe that a change to the format of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue is possible.

Speaking for Prva TV late on Monday, Dacic also said that he had no information that former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice could become her country's special envoy for the Balkans.

"I saw Condoleezza about 20 days ago in the UAE. I also met with John Kerry. They have been freed, so to speak, of their political obligations. She didn't tell me that she had such ambitions, and we spoke about it publicly," Dacic stressed.

Dacic: Pristina has "at least 7 or 8 made up recognitions" (Novosti, Tanjug, B92)

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic says the list of countries that have recognized Kosovo contains "at least seven or eight made up recognitions."

Dacic reiterated that if Serbia seriously approaches this problem, that number could fall below 100.

Dacic also said, in an interview with the daily Vecernje Novosti published on Monday, that Serbia will check all information concerning the claim that Madagascar had recognized Kosovo.

Foreign Minister late on Thursday assessed that Kosovo Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli was acting "a little nervous."

The reason, Dacic said, was that not everything was going according to plan for Pristina.

"I get him - it's not really going as they have planned, as they have been promised, and as they have paid for. That's why they're saying stupidities and lies - that I said I would 'destroy the recognition of Kosovo', that the whole world is against Serbia and that we are destructive," Dacic told Tanjug, reacting to Pacolli's message posted on Facebook.

Dacic: List of 114 countries that recognized Kosovo is false (Tanjug, B92)

Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has expressed his belief that the list of countries that recognized Kosovo would ultimately fall to under 100, Serbian media reported.

He assessed that Guinea-Bissau's revocation of a decision to recognize Kosovo's unilaterally declared independence, indicated that (Pristina's) list of 114 countries that recognized Kosovo was "a lie."

"Serbia will not recognize Kosovo in order to join EU" (Tanjug, B92)

Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said Serbia will not recognize Kosovo for the sake of joining the EU, Serbian media reported.

Speaking in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he will attend today the naming of one of the city's squares after the Republic of Serbia, Dacic added that full membership in the EU Serbia’s absolute foreign policy priority.

Dacic travels to NYC for UN Security Council Kosovo session (B92)

Serbian First Deputy PM and Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic will represent Serbia at a UN Security Council session dedicated to Kosovo tomorrow, Serbian media reported.

The meeting at the UN headquarters in New York will consider the UN secretary-general's latest report on the work of the UN Mission (UNMIK) in Kosovo, covering the period between July 16 and October 15, 2017.

According to the Serbian Government, Dacic will speak about the report, "and present Serbia's assessment of the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and UNMIK's activity".

Serbian FM - "They thought Balkan borders could be redrawn" (Tanjug, Sputnik, B92)

World power centers have overplayed their hand when they thought it was possible to redraw borders in the Balkans since it is not a part of the EU.

Serbian Foreign Minister and First Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dacic said this in a statement for the Russian daily Izvestia, Sputnik and other Serbian media are reporting.

Dacic added that this behavior was "a shining example of double standards and hypocrisy of world politics".
