As he said, she will visit Serbia in 2020, prior to expiration of her term of office.

The president said that there's no doubt that Europe wants a solution to the Kosovo problem and that Germany would insist on it.

Ruling SNS party leader and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic "does not share the majority opinion in the SNS on (early parliamentary) elections."

This is what SNS official and Serbian Presidency's Secretary General, Nikola Selakovic has told RTS.

According to Selakovic, Vucic will "think hard" and then present his stance on the issue "in ten days to two weeks' time".

"Knowing him, it will not be in the interest of the SNS, but in the interest of Serbia, the state, and the people," said Selakovic.

Kosovo issue might be reason for elections (Danas)

Obtaining legitimacy and wider citizens’ support for resolution of the Kosovo issue, governing Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and its coalition partners could use as a reason to call for extraordinary parliamentary elections, Danas daily reports.

Such conclusion could be made based on the earlier explanations the government provided to the president, and based on that he would call for the extraordinary elections.

Leader of Free Citizens Movement (PSG), Sasa Jankovic said that the opening of a theme of parliamentary elections is the best evidence that governing Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) is losing the local elections in the Serbian capital, Serbian media reported.

“They would call for a referendum on constitutional changes, Eurovision song contest, all together, just to make senseless the only elections we should have in accordance with the law and the ones they are losing,” Jankovic said.

Dacic: I expect extraordinary parliamentary elections (Danas, RTS)

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), Ivica Dacic said he expects extraordinary parliamentary elections to be called at the same time when Belgrade local elections would take place, Danas daily reported.

“I do expect (it). Knowing Vucic I expect (it),” Dacic told RTS.
