Mustafa: Review of agreement, only a media story (Telegrafi)

After a joint meeting, leader of Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Isa Mustafa, and leader of Alliance for Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, said that their discussions continue to focus on building new institutions of Kosovo.  “All delays in forming of institutions are reflecting in the situation in the country. We are determined for change and are working together intensively to make this happen”, said Haradinaj.

Arber Vllahiu, advisor to President of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga, said that each passing day without institutions means loss of Kosovo’s credibility in the international arena and is dangerous for the internal processes and decrease of the citizens’ welfare. “Each day lost means further deepening of the political, institutional, budgetary, and financial crisis. A joint meeting of the leaders to agree on the way forward would help to finally take the country out of this impossible situation”, Vllahiu said.

U.S. Ambassador sends message to Kosovo political leaders (Telegrafi)

Tracey Ann Jacobson, the United States Ambassador to Kosovo, has advised leaders of political parties to engage in breaking the political deadlock and to form the new institutions. During her address at the celebration of “The Week for Rights of Crime Victims” in Pristina, Jacobson said Kosovo needs adopted laws “but there is no Assembly yet to do this”. “Set your differences aside and form the government and the Assembly,” Jacobson said.

Thaci: I have no nostalgia for Belgrade (Telegrafi)

Outgoing Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, continues to support the idea that Albanians leaders, including Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga, should travel to Belgrade. In an interview for Radio Dukagjini, Thaci said that any time Kosovo is treated as a country, its representatives should take part in meetings such as the present one in Belgrade as this, he stressed, contributes to consolidation of the state of Kosovo.

Daut Haradinaj: Elections remain an option (Telegrafi.com)

According to Daut Haradinaj, deputy of the Alliance for the future of Kosovo (AAK), if President Jahjaga does not address once again the Constitutional Court to clarify article 127, if she refuses this request, then elections remain an option. “There is no progress. All are united and waiting. Elections would remain as another option even though it is obvious that parties are not ready for elections. So, I think that elections are an open option,” said Haradinaj for Rrokum TV.

Mustafa: The solution is in the Assembly (Telegrafi, Koha)

Leader of Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Isa Mustafa, after a meeting today with President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, said they are making efforts for finding a solution to the current stalemate in Kosovo. “Our position remains that we have to respect our parliamentary system so that the parliamentary majority can decide. However, we also expressed our readiness to be part of talks and consultations and support the President in finding a solution,” said Mustafa.

Hasani: Court being politically influenced, perception of a part of politics (Telegrafi)

President of Constitutional Court, Enver Hasani, commented on reports that Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Alliance for Future of Kosovo (AAK), Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) and Vetevendosje will ask the Constitutional Court to interpret article 127 of its recent ruling saying that if such a request is made, the court will assess it against its merit. In a statement to RTV 21, Hasani said that he would not make any further comments as this is still a hypothetical situation. “But we will act on standard basis”, he stressed.
