IMF committed to supporting Kosovo’s economic progress (RTK)

Kosovo's Minister of Finance Avdullah Hoti had a meeting today with the new International Monetary Fund representative to Kosovo Ruud Vermeulen. Minister Hoti thanked the outgoing IMF official, Frank Lajkwik, for the support in preparing agreement between the IMF and Kosovo. At the same time, he wished Vermeulen success in his new post stressing that he hoped the IMF board would approve agreement with Kosovo. Hoti expressed the commitment of the Kosovo government to change a number of laws to create between conditions for doing business in Kosovo.

Kosovo, IMF agree 185 million-euro standby loan (Reuters)

PRISTINA: The International Monetary Fund and Kosovo have agreed the terms of a 22-month standby loan worth some 185 million euros ($209 million), an IMF official said on Tuesday.  "Kosovo has no financial crisis, no fiscal crisis, but this deal will help Kosovo with its economic growth," IMF mission chief Jacques Miniane told a news conference.

IMF Deputy Managing Director Min Zhu visits Kosovo (RTKLive)

Kosovo Finance Minister Avdullah Hoti received today in a meeting the Deputy Managing Director of International Monetary Fund (IMF),Min Zhu. During the meeting it was discussed for enhancing cooperation between Kosovo and the International Monetary Fund, economic and financial developments in Kosovo, and the possibility of signing an Agreement between Kosovo and the International Monetary Fund. Zhu said that the IMF mission team will start negotiations on a new program between the IMF and Kosovo.

Kosovo, seeking IMF help, wins praise for ditching pay hike plan (Reuters)

The International Monetary Fund praised Kosovo's new prime minister on Monday for defying a strike threat and sticking to plans for steep public sector pay hikes.

Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, who took power two weeks ago, has vetoed a pledge by his predecessor to raise public sector salaries by 25 percent annually for the next four years, following a similar raise this year.
