Kadaj-Bujupi: Vetëvendosje considers returning to Assembly (Gazeta Tribuna)

Vetëvendosje Movement MP, Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, said yesterday that her party is considering returning to the Assembly after several weeks of boycott. According to her, they will be there to strongly oppose agreements on the border-demarcation with Montenegro and the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities. She said that there will be coordination and resistance from the citizens, opposition and some ruling-coalition MPs, to oppose “these dangerous agreements for Kosovo”.

Communication troubles with INTERPOL and EUROPOL (Gazeta Tribuna)

The EU Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) and UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) are the only link that Kosovo institutions have with EUROPOL and INTERPOL, the news site reports. And even, it is these two missions, according to the news site, that decide what information to share with the local authorities. Meanwhile, the procedures for exchange of information with local institutions takes a long time, even in situations requring quick action. Donika Emini from the Kosovo Security Center says there are cases that take years to be processed.

Citing unnamed sources within the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Gazeta Tribuna reports that PDK parliamentary group during its meeting today proposed that PDK MP Rafet Rama should be Hashim Thaci’s rival for Kosovo president.  The parliamentary group also discussed about the quorum needed for the election of the president, and issued a decision that all PDK MPs are required to be in the session the voting day, regardless of the situation created there.

Thaci briefs cabinet ahead of Western Balkans Summit (Tribuna)

Kosovo’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Hashim Thaci, briefed the government on tomorrow’s Western Balkans Summit that will take place in Pristina. Thaci said six regional ministers will attend the meeting as well as the EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn. “This meeting will be very important and all participating ministers will be at the same level of representation, that of the Gymnich model,” said Thaci.
