During the election campaign for the Serbian parliamentary elections, some leaders of political parties visited Kosovo, while entry into Kosovo  for others like the President of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS), Vojislav Seselj and the Chief of the Serbian General Staff, Ljubisa Dikovic, was denied in advance. The reasons, as Petrit Selimi, the Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs in the Government of Kosovo, says, are that they are war criminals and that they will never enter Kosovo.

Kosovo’s institutions were mobilized to react if Vojislav Seselj, leader of the Serbian Radical Party, entered the territory of Kosovo during the weekend. Seselj, who was recently acquitted on war crime charges by the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia (ICTY), said he wanted to visit Serb-inhabited areas in the northern part of Kosovo. After the Kosovo Ministry of Interior Affairs issued an arrest warrant, the Kosovo Police deployed its most elite unit - FIT - to Mitrovica.

The paper’s columnist Enver Robelli, in an opinion piece today, criticizes Kosovo’s justice system for "arresting the Serb general Milovan Bojovic for illegally entering Kosovo territory and not for war crimes committed against K-Albanians during the conflict in 1999." “Bojojvic was sentenced to 30 days in prison for illegal border crossing. It is very likely that Bojovic will leave Kosovo soon without any problem. If  Kosovo had a good justice system, a war crimes indictment would already be in place for Bojovic,” Robelli writes.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa promised a speedy reaction towards the recent visits of the Serbian officials in Kosovo as well as the announcements that they made. “Today we are visiting the most senior institution of education in Kosovo, therefore I would want to focus on this. However I promise that during the day or tomorrow, we will respond to your questions, but in the government building,” Mustafa said.

After Vojislav Seselj’s announcements that he will arrive today in Mitrovica North to hold a pre-election campaign speech at a gathering, Kosovo Police announced that it possesses an arrest warrant and that it is determined to implement it.

Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police, north, Besim Hoti, said that the leader of Serbian radicals will not be allowed to enter through the border points with Serbia.

Serbian nationalist Vojislav Seselj has been declared a persona non-grata in Kosovo and banned from entering the country, just days after he was acquitted on war crime charges.

Kosovo’s acting-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Petrit Selimi, commenting on Serbian nationalist leader Vojislav Seselj statements that he might visit Kosovo soon, said that Kosovo’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared Seselj as persona non grata, and that now it is up to the prosecution not to allow Seselj to enter Kosovo’s territory.

Serb radicals failed badly during their gathering today in Gracanica municipality. Sources of Gazeta Blic stressed that a very small number of people responded to the call for the gathering. “It was a symbolic number of citizens at the pre-election gathering of the Radical Party in Gracanica,” said this source.

Vojislav Seselj, leader of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) said that the Serb representatives in Kosovo institutions do not have the trust of the Serbs in Kosovo, adding that this must change soon. "With two or three percent of votes they receive all MP positions and behave like the Serbs elected them. They do not have the trust of the Serbian people and I have now found a way to oppose this," said the leader of the SRS.

"It is pointless to continue the negotiations in Brussels on Kosovo and Metohija until certain conditions are met. First, the Serbian delegation must not give up on requirements related to Association / Community of Serb municipalities (A/CSM)," said President of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) Vojislav Seselj.
