The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa promised a speedy reaction towards the recent visits of the Serbian officials in Kosovo as well as the announcements that they made. “Today we are visiting the most senior institution of education in Kosovo, therefore I would want to focus on this. However I promise that during the day or tomorrow, we will respond to your questions, but in the government building,” Mustafa said.

Faton Abdullahu, has been recently nominated spokesperson of the government of Kosovo. He is also political adviser to the Prime Minister Isa Mustafa. Speaking for Klan Kosova, Abdullahu said that work in the government is dynamic and that it is “an art of its own” to convey it properly to the citizens. “Some governments face stagnation despite their good work, and they find it difficult to convey this to the citizens,” Abdulahu said.

The Spokesperson of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Muharrem Nitaj, told the portal the date for the next protest will be decided during this week, and the possibility for the protest to take place this week or very soon after, is not excluded. “So far, there is no decision on the precise date of the protest,” Nitaj said.

Based on a project for building new settlements in north and south of Kosovo, the government of Serbia has planned to move to Kosovo over 20 thousand Serbs from Serbia.

Kosovo Police arrested Vetevendosje member and Albanian citizen, Arber Zaimi today. According to a Vetevendosje movement post on Facebook, he was arrested only for being from Albania. “As it appears, the government of Kosovo is determined to expel every citizen of the Republic of Albania from Kosovo, and is equally as determined to facilitate Serbia’s legal and illegal interventions.

The Association of the Journalists of Kosovo protested today in front of the government building, with the motto “Speak up, do not be afraid.”

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, appealed today once again to the opposition parties to return to the Assembly and dialogue for the problems that concern them. During today’s meeting of the government, Mustafa said that certain opposition parties should give up violence and discourse that embeds hatred. “It is in the interest of the country for us to work, improve the lives of citizens. They should renounce from violence and attacks of buildings and of police.

The Austrian daily Österreich, published an article, which says that the current Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, will be elected President of Kosovo next week. According to the daily, Thaci has majority support of the population of Kosovo, being that the 48 year old had led Kosovo towards its independence.

Assembly of Kosovo has prolonged its winter holiday more than usual, after a season when tear gas by the opposition parties was thrown almost at every session.

Assembly Presidency gathered last week however they did not set the date for the next session. They said the date will be set at the next meeting of the Presidency which is to commence on 6 or 7 February.

“The country cannot be held hostage by two people and their whims,” the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj said in an interview for Gazeta Fjala.

According to Haradinaj, they have violated the Constitution and should therefore pave the way for Kosovo to become a country governed by the rule of law, and create a favourable environment for the reduction of unemployment by activating major economical projects.
