Panel of doctors to examine Oliver Ivanovic (Politika)

Director of the Health Centre in northern Mitrovica Dr. Milan Ivanovic said today that he will seek from EULEX that panel of doctors examine Oliver Ivanovic, who is on hunger strike in prison.   

Milan Ivanovic told Tanjug that the health condition of Oliver Ivanovic, according to the information available, can worsen and complicate therefore he needs adequate health protection.

Can Kosovo join UNESCO without Serbian votes? (Politika)

If UNESCO accepts Kosovo application for membership that does not mean that it will become 205th member of this organization. As stated by Rada Trajkovic, president of the NGO European movement of Serbs, membership in the UNESCO could be prevented by the Serbian MPs in Kosovo parliament. As she claims, and as stipulated by the Kosovo constitution, for the laws related to the protection of the cultural heritage is required majority support of MPs from the minority groups.

Diplomatic fight of Serbia for votes in UNESCO (Politika)

Possible Kosovo membership in the UNESCO would not change the status of the Serbian cultural heritage which is located in that area, because legally it is ownership of the Serbian Orthodox Church. But Serbia would then have to initiate diplomatic struggle, in order to certify the precise formulation of the orthodox cultural heritage in that territory, referring to it as Serbian, said Darko Tanaskovic, Serbian Ambassador to UNESCO.

Stojanovic to Engel: ZSO of vital importance (Akter, Politika, RTS,Tanjug)

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic told U.S. Congressman Eliot Engel that Serbs in Kosovo insist on executive powers for the community of Serbian municipalities (ZSO) in the fields of education, economic development, health care and spatial planning.

Stojanovic said to Engel, who is paying a multi-day visit to Kosovo, that this issue is of vital importance for the Serbs.

According to Stojanovic, the U.S. congressman agreed, but urged the Serbs to build their future in Kosovo on an equal footing.

"Most probably they will close issues on telecommunication and the bridge over the Ibar river, that connects the North and South part of Mitrovica" in the cabinet of EU High Representative, Federica Mogherini between Belgrade team, headed by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Pristina team with Isa Mustafa, the Prime Minster of the Kosovo government.

Chambers of commerce seek involvement in projects (Dailies)

A conference of Western Balkan chambers of commerce, organized at the initiative of chambers of commerce of Serbia and Kosovo, ended in Vienna on Tuesday with the conclusion that business communities need to be involved in making decisions about the projects that are being prepared for the summit on the Western Balkans, set to take place in the Austrian capital in late August.
