Northern Kosovo soon without medicines (Vesti)

As of June 1, northern Kosovo could be left without medicines, following a decision of the Kosovo Ministry of Health and Customs that sale of medicines and other medicaments produced in Serbia won’t be allowed in pharmacies in northern Kosovo as of that date.

Owners of pharmacies are due to have Kosovo licenses, what is actually impossible, since Kosovo is not recognizing university diplomas from Serbia.

Rakic: I hope we will use the budget in the right way (RTK2)

At the session of the Municipal Assembly of Mitrovica North municipal councillors adopted the financial report.  Mayor of Mitrovica North Goran Rakic said that budget was unblocked few days ago, adding that he hope that this municipality will use the budget of around six million euros in the right way.    “Few days ago we paid workers of Administrative Office and Local Government. In regards to the salaries of teachers and health workers, I am convinced that we will find the right solution that will satisfy both sides. I kindly ask them for patience,” said Rakic.

Kosovo Minister of Local Self-Government Ljubomir Maric and Minister for Returns Dalibor Jevtic conferred with representatives of the Brdjani neighbourhood in Mitrovica and backed the beginning of talks between Serbs and ethnic Albanians aimed at reaching an agreement on the return of displaced persons and establishment of trust.

There won’t be judiciary of Serbs and Albanians (Vesti)

Kosovo-based media in the Albanian language report that official Pristina and international community are hiding the fact that signing of the agreement on creation of the integrated Albanian-Serbian judiciary in Kosovo was futile work and that joint courts and prosecutors office will not take place in the near future.

Agreement on judiciary was signed on 10 February in Brussels by prime ministers of Serbia and Kosovo, Aleksandar Vucic and Isa Mustafa. Integrated judiciary is due to become operational as of 1 September.

Only one application has been submitted so far for the prosecutors’ post in North Mitrovica following the vacancy published in accordance with the agreement on judiciary. The deadline for applications expires on 25 May.

Prosecutorial and Judicial councils of Kosovo have published vacancies on 25 March for Serb prosecutors and judges, 15 prosecutors and 48 judges, with conditions such as that the applicant has to be ‘the citizen of Kosovo’ and to have a valid university diploma recognized by Kosovo laws.

Djuric: Without the formation of Community/Association of Serbian municipalities there is no progress (RTV Pink, Vecernje Novosti)

We have clearly sent a message that we are for further progress in the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, and without the establishment of the Association/Community of Serbian municipalities (ZSO) progress is not possible, said Marko Djuric, Director of the Office of the Government of Serbia for Kosovo and Metohija.

Ðurić: Peace Park remains until mayors reach agreement (RTK2, TV Most)

The Peace Park can be removed only when mayors from northern and southern parts of Mitrovica agree about it, says Marko Ðurić.

Ðurić said to journalists in North Mitrovica that Peace Park exists on the basis of the agreement reached in August last year, and that it can only be removed after mayors of northern and southern parts of Mitrovcia reach consent over it.
