PM Vučić and Meuci on cooperation between Serbia and Eulex (Tanjug, IRS, Beta, RTS)

Serbian PM Aleksandar Vučić received the new head of the Eulex mission Gabriel Meuci, on which occasion he said that the cooperation between Serbia and Eulex would be correct during Meuci’s term as well. The two stressed the need of closer cooperation in battle against organized crime and illegal traffic. Meuci promised to give support to the continuation of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

After the joint press conference incident, when Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić accused Albanian PM, Edi Rama, of a breach of protocol for speaking about Kosovo as independent and inviting Serbia to recognize the territory it considers its own, Vučić posted, in English, the following message on Twitter: "Today was a chance for us to turn a new page. We regret that Prime Minister Rama’s provocation has led to a missed opportunity, but we would still like to work together for the future of our region."

Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama said he was surprised that someone in Serbia could be provoked by position that Kosovo is an independent state. "For me it is fascinating that this can provoke you. That is not something I dreamed. It is the reality. Many countries that Serbia cooperates with recognized Kosovo as an independent state," said Rama. He said that Albania respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia. "We fully respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.

PM responds to Albanian counterpart: Kosovo is Serbian (B92)

Albanian PM Edi Rama said after the talks in Belgrade with Serbian PM Aleksandar Vučić that "Preševo is a bridge and Kosovo's independence is a reality."Rama's address, much longer than that delivered by Vučić during a joint news conference on Monday, was not translated during the live broadcast on the RTS TV, but it provoked a strong reaction from the Serbian prime minister, who referred to it as a provocation. "About Kosovo we have different views, but the reality is one and unquestionable, both regional as well as European and must be respected.

Jahjaga was invited on behalf of Kosovo (Danas)

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic confirmed arrival at the meeting of the European Group of the Trilateral Commission, which will be held in Belgrade from 31 October to 2 November. On the other side, Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga still didn’t confirm participation, was stated from the Serbian ethnic group of this world organization. Except Jahjaga and Vucic, Ministers of the Government of Serbia, as well as other leaders from the region were invited. The meeting will be held in Belgrade's Hotel "Crown Plaza" according to the principle "behind closed doors".

Vučić had talks with Brok (IRS)

Serbian PM Aleksandar Vučić said in talks in Belgrade with the chair of the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee, Elmar Brok, that he expected Serbia to open Chapters 32 and 35 in talks with the EU by the end of the year, and Chapters 23 and 24 after that. Brok commended Serbia’s progress in EU integrations. Vučić said that in the past five months Serbia had realized significant progress by adopting reform laws and that the government had announced fiscal consolidation measures.
