Serbian National Forum supports Oliver Ivanovic (KIM radio)

Serbian National Forum (SNF) announced that it supports the protests and initiative for the release of Oliver Ivanovic and Dragoljub Delibasic.

"On the occasion of an initiative to hold a protest against the scandalous relationship of EULEX towards the detained Serbs, primarily Oliver Ivanovic and Dragoljub Delibasic, who are being unjustifiably kept in detention unreasonably long time and without no fault proven, SNF joins the protests and initiatives for their release," the statement said.

Two protests were held today in Mitrovica and Pristina in support of Oliver Ivanovic and Dragan Delibasic, demanding their release on bail. The first protest was held in front of the Basic Court in Mitrovica North, while the second one was held in front of EULEX Headquarters in Pristina. Oliver Ivanovic’s brother who was one of the protesters said that the Oliver Ivanovic was politically imprisoned by EULEX. Media report that around 500 people participated in the protest in Mitrovica while only around 30 were present in front of EULEX in Pristina.

Citizens want Ivanovic to be released pending trial (Tanjug)

Several hundred citizens gathered in Mitrovica on Monday demanding Oliver Ivanovic, the Head of the Citizens Initiative Freedom, Democracy, Justice (SDP), to be released pending trial immediately.

The half an hour-long protest was held in front of the building of the Basic Court in Mitrovica where the regional central office of EULEX is located as well. The protestors hung a sign on the court's gate reading "EULEX's court a dungeon".

EULEX harasses Oliver Ivanovic (Blic)

The EULEX Court decision to extend detention of Oliver Ivanovic until 6 October, Milena Ivanovic (Oliver's wife) has described as "horrible and scandalous".

- This is another proof that everything is set up, it is a political process. They probably have condemned him in advance - says for Blic, Milena Popovic Ivanovic.

Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic says for Blic that the length of detention and the course of the procedure against Ivanovic creates concern and doubts as to respect a series of individual rights from the complex right to trial within a reasonable time.

Djuric disappointed with detention extension for Ivanovic (Tanjug)

Director of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) Marko Djuric expressed on Thursday his deep disappointment and revolt over the court decision to extend the detention for Oliver Ivanovic, leader of the Serb party Citizens' Initiative Freedom, Democracy Justice, and qualified it as yet another proof that the case against Ivanovic is politically motivated.

The detention for Ivanovic has been extended until October 6. According to Djuric, this decision is a bad signal for the overall political climate and the rule of law in Kosovo.
