Adriatik Kelmendi considers that the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), should immediately start working on regaining trust, after failing to vote ratification of the Stabilization Association Agreement. He says that it is regrettable that these two parties and Vetevendosje Movement ruined the 25 year old Albanian consensus on this matter. “Was the SAA with Kosovo the best? No! Could it be negotiated better? Perhaps! Should it be approved? Absolutely, definitively YES,” writes Kelmendi.

Halil Matoshi argues that Kosovo’s society considers opposition’s objection to any initiative in favor of the Euro-Atlantic integration as proclaiming war against western democracy, against the U.S. and the EU. He notes that using a false cause could lead the opposition toward becoming a history.

UNESCO General Conference yesterday adopted agenda with Kosovo’s membership proposal, whereas Serbian officials have launched a visible campaign against it few days ahead of the Conference.

Kosovo strategic action network (KSAM/KPAN) expressed its dissatisfaction and concern with the work of Serb MPs in the Kosovo parliament who supported many processes and laws, which in practice never come to life or are contrary to Kosovo Constitution. “One of the latest motions is support to the Law on ratification of the Stabilization Association Agreement between Kosovo and the European Union, which could not be adopted without the votes of MPs from the Serbian List,” KSAM communicated.

Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic, today received the new head of UN mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) Zahir Tanin, to whom he conveyed expectation that mission will continue to work in full capacity in line with its mandate, and in line with the UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

Discussions on Kosovo becoming a member of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) prove that international law and the world order are in deep crisis, the Serbian ambassador to Russia said Tuesday. UNESCO is expected to vote on the matter during the organization’s general conference, which kicked off on Tuesday in Paris. On October 21, the majority of UNESCO’s executive board voted to recommend Kosovo becoming a full member state.
