Kosovo gains funds to fight radicalism and extremism (Gazeta Express)

Kosovo’s President, Atifete Jahjaga, met in New York with the representative of the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF), Chairperson of the Board, Ms. Carol Bellamy and Mr. Khalid Koser, Executive Director of the fund, to discuss Kosovo’s involvement in the initiatives of this organization to uproot extremism and prevent radicalism.

Russell: Corruption has a high price (Kallxo.com)

The UN Coordinator for Development and permanent representative of UNDP in Kosovo, Andrew Russell, spoke about corruption saying that this phenomenon is not for granted but it has to be paid for it every day.

Russell made these statements during a conference for presentation of the Targets for Sustainable Development which were officially endorsed by the UN General Assembly on 25 September.

Negotiation chapters 35, 32 first to be opened (B92, Tanjug)

Director of the Office for EU Integration Ksenija Milenkovic voiced expectation on Tuesday that Chapters 35 and 32, relating to Kosovo and financial control, will be opened as part of Serbia's EU membership talks by the end of this year.

We expect that Chapters 23 and 24, on judiciary and security, will be opened soon after that, Milenkovic said at the opening of the International Scientific Conference: "Serbia and the European Union - Preparations for Negotiations on Chapter 23 and 24."

Nikolic, el-Sisi on refugee crisis, Kosovo's UNESCO bid (Tanjug)

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic discussed the refugee crisis and Serbia's efforts to prevent Kosovo from becoming a UNESCO member with President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Nikolic said that the refugee crisis is a big test for Europe and its fundamental values.

He pointed out that Serbia will continue to treat migrants responsibly and in a civilized way.

Minister for Labour, Employment, and Social Issues Aleksandar Vulin said that the Serbs in Kosovo chosen the Serbian List and that they should continue to decide about their list.

"The divisions are not good and this should not be done publicly, if a conflict exists then it should be discussed", said Vulin and added that his desire is that divisions go somewhere else.

Tahiri: It is EU’s turn to reward Kosovo (Klan Kosova)

Kosovo’s Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri, said that Kosovo has proved seriousness in the dialogue with Serbia and implementation of the agreements.

According to her, it is now the turn of the European Union  to reward Kosovo and to sign without delay the Stabilization Association Agreement and to make the decision on visa liberalization.

She made these comments during a meeting with the Swedish Ambassador for Kosovo, Albania and FYROM, Mats Staffansson.

Kosovo Bosniaks seek Recane to be a municipality (RTK2)

The International Day of Bosniaks, 28 September, which aim is to preserve the national identity, will be marked and in Kosovo. This minority community faces numerous problems.

The central celebration of the International Day of Bosniaks, traditionally marked in Prizren, will be sponsored by the Government of Kosovo. Coordinator of the celebration is Rasim Demiri, Minister without portfolio in the Government of Kosovo and the official of Vakat.
