Vucic: Improved relations between Serbia, Vatican (Tanjug)

Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic received outgoing Apostolic Nuncio Orlando Antonini on Tuesday, and thanked him for his personal contribution to improving relations between Serbia and the Vatican.

This is also reflected in a better understanding between the Roman Catholic Church and the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Serbian government's media relations office said in a release.

Podgorica supports Kosovo’s membership? (Vecernje Novosti)

The circle of Montenegro’s official recognition of Kosovo’s independence, visit of Hashim Thaci to Podgorica, announced opening of embassy in Pristina and recently accomplished demarcation, will probably close with the support to Pristina’s membership in UNESCO.

Montenegro will take the stand with regard to it in the eve of the session taking into account of state’s so far policy when it comes to the region, stated Montenegro’s Foreign Minister Igor Luksic.

OSCE: Forum on sustainable solutions for displaced from Kosovo (RTK2)

OSCE Mission in Kosovo, together with UNHCR, will organize on 21 September in Budva Technical Meeting and Forum on the highest level about sustainable solutions for displaced persons from Kosovo.

The working group for technical issues will finalize proposals on 21 September related to priority areas such as property issues, civil documentation, data management and cooperation.

Pristina planting the army (Vecernje Novosti)

Kosovo government is seeking solution for transforming Kosovo Security Forces (KSF)  into armed ones, in a way that would ‘by-pass’ expected blockade by Serbian MPs.

A scenario that has being mentioned provides that there won’t be constitutional changes, for which votes of Serb MPs are needed, instead it would be carried out through amendments of the existing law on KSF, in a way that provisions on armed forces are ‘planted’ in it, whereas they would still be named as ‘security’ forces.

Former MUP officers from Kosovo announce protest and blockade of Jarinje (Kontakt Plus Radio)

Former employees of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) in Kosovo, requesting that they status is settled, announced protest in North Mitrovica today and one hour blockade of the crossing Jarinje in North Kosovo.

Employees' representative Rajko Šekularac said that the protest will take place at 11 in front of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Meothija premises in North Mitrovica, and that they will block crossing Jarnije in North Kosovo for one hour following the protest.

Haradinaj comments Obama's statement on demarcation of the border (Koha.net)

The Leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj commented the statement of the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, during his address to Kosovo’s new ambassador to the US, Vlora Citaku, where he expressed support for the border demarcation between Kosovo and Montenegro.

Nenad Rašić joins the Serbian List caucus (KIM Radio)

The Leader of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDS) Nenad Rašić today joined the ranks of the Serbian List.

The Serbian List caucus whip Slavko Simic said that this decision was made after a meeting with the head of the Serbian List Aleksandar Jablanović. He also said that the decision was supported by all present MPs from the Serbian List caucus. Simic went on to say that this clearly sends a message about unity of Serbian political representatives.

Thaci in Paris for Kosovo's membership at UNESCO (Koha.net)

The Principal Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hashim Thaci, concluded his official visit to the Great Britain and traveled today to Paris, France to meet the delegates of the UNESCO Executive Council member countries. Thaci informed about his visit on his Facebook account: “I came to Paris to meet and coordinate with the delegates of the majority of the UNESCO member countries. Lobbying for Kosovo’s membership at UNESCO remains priority of Kosovo’s diplomacy.”
