Differences with U.S. "smaller - apart from issue of Kosovo" (B92)

Serbia is building sincere and friendly relations with the United States, Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said at the close of his visit to the U.S.

In a statement to RTS on Thursday evening, Vucic said that he had received commendations for Serbia in all meetings, and that apart from the issue of Kosovo, and noted that the differences of opinion between Belgrade and Washington were getting smaller.

The three leaders of the united opposition in Kosovo, Visar Ymeri (Vetevendosje), Ramush Haradinaj (AAK) and Fatmir Limaj (NISMA), signed today the petition which requests rejection of the recent agreements reached in Brussels between Pristina and Belgrade and demarcation of the border with Montenegro. After signing the petition, AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj said that the reached agreements do not harm Kosovo only politically, but on the judicial and economic aspects as well. NISMA leader, Fatmir Limaj, called on the supporters of his party and all the people of Kosovo to sign this petition.

Convicted criminals from Kosovo and Serbia only have to cross each other’s borders in order to escape serving jail sentences for the crimes that they committed.

Lemja Xhema got a hero’s welcome when she arrived in the town of Fushe Kosove near Pristina earlier this month, campaigning for votes in a municipal election.

In some other countries however, Xhema would have been in jail, not running for election.

Why Irinej refers to Ahtisaari (Politika)

Serbian Orthodox Church has referred to Annex 5 of the Ahitsaari’s plan, with regard to protection of Christian heritage in the southern province, what caused opposed comments in the general public since Serbia never accepted that document, which implies recognition of the self-declared independence of Kosovo.

Some argue that the Church is using wrong argumentation, whereas others argue that implementation of Annex 5 is the only way to save the Church’s property in case that Kosovo is admitted to UNESCO.

Djuric sends a letter to the British newspaper Independent (Vesti, NMagazin, Tanjug)

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric has sent a letter to the editor of the British "Independent" regarding the article on Kosovo. Djuric pointed out that more than 200,000 displaced Serbs cannot return to their homes, which is why, when writing about harmony in Kosovo, was hypocritical at least.

Dacic sent 44 letters of protest because of UNESCO (Vecernje Novosti)

Ministry of Foreign Affairs has contacted the countries that support Kosovo's accession to UNESCO. Decision of the Executive Committee on the eventual membership will be made after 20 October.

Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic sent a protest letter to the 44 countries, which have supported the Kosovo's request that the Executive Board of UNESCO discuss accession of Kosovo into this organization, learns Novosti.

Statute of the A/CSM until spring time (Vecernje Novosti)

Creation of the Association/Community of Serb municipalities goes by the plan. Four months will be needed for development of the statue and spring 2016 is set as a period for its establishment.

We expect our teams to come out in next couple days with concrete drafts, proposals and plans, said Marko Đurić, the Director of the Serbian Governments’ Office for Kosovo and Metohja, during his visit to Štrpce/Shtërpcë.

Đurić: Albanians should not fear A/CSM (Politika)

The Director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Đurić  expects the statute of the Association/Community of Serb municipalities to be accomplished until the end of the year and that Brussels Agreement is finally implemented.

Despite numerous obstructions the A/CSM will be created until the spring time 2016 the latest, said Đurić during his recent visit to southern Serbian province.

3.000 collectively join SNS in Štrpce (Blic)

Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) held a town hall meeting in the house of culture ‘Sveti Sava’ in Štrpce/Shtërpcë where 3.000 residents of the municipality collectively joined that party.

Member of the SNS Presidency Marko Đurić said on the occasion that 3.000 strong, capable and determined individuals have joined the family, and that time has come for everyone “who breaths and speaks Serbian” is put under one flag and that this one, according to him, is the SNS flag.
