Beqiri: The regular session on Friday – opposition against the solemn session (Koha)

Head of the parliamentary group of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Ismet Beqiri, said on his way out from the meeting of the Assembly Presidency, that opposition parties were against holding of a solemn session to mark the eighth anniversary of the independence of Kosovo.

“It is very normal to mark it with a solemn session. So far, there is no mood to hold one, but it remains to see what the position of the presidency is. Opposition claimed that it is too late, however 17 February has been celebrated for eight years now. It was also decided to hold a session on Friday, with the agenda of the presidency,” Beqiri said.

KTV reported that the Presidency proposed a session for Friday, to discuss 21 points of the agenda. Election of the president is not foreseen for this session.

Aida Deguti from Vetevendosje called the call for the session a provocation.

Ismet Beqiri from LDK proposed the solemn session for tomorrow, in order to mark the eighth anniversary of the independence of Kosovo. He also agreed to hold the regular session on Friday.

Head of PDK’s parliamentary group, Adem Grabovci, agreed with Beqiri’s proposal.
