Government says banning of Koha Ditore reporter was unacceptable (Koha)
Kosovo Government spokesman, Arban Abrashi, said today that the decision of the Kosovo Medicines Agency to ban Koha Ditore reporter Saranda Ramaj from covering Prime Minister Isa Mustafa’s visit to the agency on Tuesday, was unacceptable. Abrashi said that regardless of the reasons, reporters should not be banned and must be allowed to carry out their duties. He further argued that the government and Prime Minister Mustafa were not aware of the ban until reporters asked about the matter later on. “The Government of the Republic of Kosovo is fully committed to the freedom of the press, to contribute actively in creating proper conditions and to be fully transparent in the service of public information for all its activities, without violating the independence of other institutions and without any prejudice,” Abrashi said.
