Thaci: Visa recommendation is not a present, it was deserved (RTKlive)

During his visit to Kosovo, the European Union Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn, met also with the President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, and said during this meeting that there is still work to be done on the rule of law. Thaçi on the other hand stressed that Kosovo’s vision and goal is the European perspective. “I have faith that we will fulfill all our obligations and that implementation of visa liberalization will happen very soon, in order to conclude this process with complete success.  The recommendation was not a present for Kosovo, but it was deserved due to the complete implementation of all the required democratic criteria. At the same time, we are aware that we still have work to do and I believe that we will work faster and better. Commissioner Hahn’s visit today is taking place at a momentum when Kosovo differs from the one three or four months ago. Today, Kosovo is a stable country, with an internal communication of the Kosovo political specter and we can also say at a different phase of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, the process which will lead towards a complete Europeanization of the region,” Thaçi said.

Hahn on the other hand said that Kosovo has many opportunities and that it should be using them. He stressed that more work is required on the rule of law.
