Serb IDPs want to return to Istog and Peja/Peć (Koha Ditore)
The paper reports on page fifteen that there is an increased number of Serb families that want to return to their properties in the municipalities of Istog and Peja/Peć. There are two factors that have influenced their decision: the good security situation for all communities living in these municipalities and a programme for returns and reintegration funded by the European Commission. Slobodan Petrović, chief of the Peja/Peć sub-municipal office in Gorazhdec/Gorazdevac, told the paper that 44 internally-displaced Serb families, who are currently living in private houses and camps in Serbia, want to return to Kosovo. Petrović said in 2015, 500 Serb families submitted applications to return. Some of these families have already returned while the others are waiting for the construction of their houses.
