Thaçi honors Serbs killed in Hoçë e Madhe/Velika Hoča (Klan Kosova)
The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, honored today 84 Kosovo Serbs of Hoçë e Madhe/Velika Hoča, Rahovec municipality, who lost their lives during 1998-2000. “We have just placed flowers at this commemorative plaque of 84 Kosovo Serb citizens. We are here today to remember and pray for the victims during and after the war, regardless their nationality,” Thaçi said.
He further spoke about the families of the missing persons. “From the families of the missing persons and the meetings that we have had with them, we have learned that the pain is the same for all of them, for each parent, each family, and each community.”
He said that the truth requires sacrifice and requested from everyone to raise above themselves , their national background to serve democracy, the future, Europeanization of Kosovo and multi-ethnic society, on behalf and in service to the Euro-Atlantic and European future of Kosovo.
“The fate of the missing should enlighten, justice should prevail, and reconciliation should take place. Kosovo should not remain hostage of the dark past but we should jointly and with trust build our future for all, without distinction. This is our mission, our vision to work without discrimination, be it political, ethnical or religious,” he said.
