The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) organized today protests in several cities of Kosovo, including Gjilan, Mitrovica, Ferizaj, Peja, Gjakova and Prizren, to demand release of their leader Ramush Haradinaj, who is detained by French authorities, based on an arrest warrant issued by Serbia.

Similar protests took place also in front of the French Embassies in Tirana and in Skopje. Last week a similar protest was held in Pristina. Media also report about a protest in Vienna.

Haradinaj was detained on 4 January based on Serbia’s international warrant arrest for war crimes in Kosovo. The Ministry of Justice in Serbia has submitted on Tuesday a request for Haradinaj’s extradition to Serbia.
