“The father” of the PDK! (Zeri)
Editor Lavdim Hamidi writes that there are many people who think that after listening to the arguments of political parties in the first hearing session, Enver Hasani, president of the Constitutional Court, will make a decision in favor of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). “The first question that arises in this situation is why are there such opinions of Enver Hasani and other judges of the Constitutional Court? The fact that people preempt the decision of the court says a lot about the degradation of the judicial system in Kosovo. With his immature actions, Hasani, but also other judges in this institution, have contributed to the low level of trust by the people in the judicial system”. Hamidi argues that it is very likely that politically-affiliated judges could have told PDK senior official Xhavit Haliti about the content of the decision of the Constitutional Court. “If party officials know beforehand when the ruling will be ready and what it will say, then why is it necessary to send the case to court? The Constitutional Court should have the highest level of credibility, professionalism and independence and no one should know beforehand its decisions.”
