Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova says Moscow does not support "delimitation" as the solution to the Kosovo problem.

The idea was floated earlier by Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, while President Aleksandar Vucic on Thursday revealed this was "his policy" on the issue.

Asked about the position of Russia in terms of demarcation, Zaharova responded by asking: "You will not have a problem with that?"

She added that Russia will act with respect to the decision of the Serbian people, but once again asked whether Serbia will have problems with the solution.

When it comes to foreign policy of Russia as a whole, somebody likes it, somebody don't, but we are consistent, she said.

She added that this is an important quality especially in the modern world when international agreements are tarnished and become a "piece of paper".

Consistency is also related to the issue of Kosovo, Zaharova said, adding that their approach is based on respect for international law, the sovereignty of Serbia, and added, in Belgrade they know it.

She noted that the problem of Kosovo has become an international problem and it is not only Serbia's.

Speaking during a joint news conference today, Ivica Dacic said that "delimitation" was "not a done deal."

"That is something we saw as a possibility to reach compromise," Dacic said.

Earlier in the day, the minister told Prva TV that this was an option he has been backing "for about ten years."
