Miroslav Ivanovic: They are still waging war against Oliver (KIM Radio)
Miroslav Ivanovic, brother of assassinated leader of Civic Initiative Freedom, Democracy, Justice, Oliver Ivanovic said he is disappointed with the decision of the local authorities in Mitrovica North to rename Nemanjina Street into Oliver Ivanovic Street, KIM Radio reports.
“This way, they are politically clashing and waging a war against Oliver,” Miroslav added.
Miroslav Ivanovic underlined he is not surprised by the decision of the city authorities, headed by Srpska Lista to name a street in Bosniac Mahala after his late brother. According to him, this is yet another attempt to undermine Oliver.
He recalled that Srpska Lista rejected previously submitted a petition signed by more than 1700 citizens, members of the Oliver’s family and colleagues to name a street in Mitrovica after him.
The request to name a street in Mitrovica after Oliver, was pending for months to be included in the agenda of the Mitrovica North Municipal Assembly. When the request was finally included in the agenda, it was rejected citing irregularities, so the proposal to name the street where Oliver was murdered or some of the streets in the centre of the town after Oliver was rejected, KIM Radio reported.
