Vucic spoke with Wess Mitchell, Johannes Hahn (BETA, Tanjug)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke yesterday over the phone with US Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia, Wess Mitchell, BETA news agency reports. The two officials discussed the situation in the region, in particular Belgrade-Pristina relations. US official said he expects Pristina to revoke the tariffs on Serbian goods and to create conditions for continuation of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue. Vucic said Serbia is ready to continue the dialogue at the very moment tariffs are revoked, since Serbia is committed to preserving peace and stability in the region. Meanwhile, Tanjug news agency reported that Vucic also spoke with EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn. They discussed the situation in the Western Balkans, including Belgrade-Pristina relations and future steps of Serbia on its EU path. Vucic pointed out consequences that Pristina’s irresponsible and unilateral decision on tariffs has on the relations and stability in the region. He noted again Serbia is ready to continue the dialogue after Pristina revokes its decision. Commissioner Hahn welcomed Serbia’s readiness to preserve the peace and stability, Tanjug news agency added.
