Izetbegovic: "If Serbia recognizes Kosovo, all radars will turn towards BiH" (Tanjug, B92, Klix.ba)

Bakir Izetbegovic, president of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), told Voice of America that he believes that in case Serbia recognizes Kosovo's independence, all radars will turn to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Izetbegovic commented on the possible outcome of Belgrade-Pristina relations, but also the relationship between BiH and Kosovo, and sees the only link between Kosovo and BiH in that "the same side that has done the violence against Albanians on Kosovo, and in BiH against the Bosniaks ".

"We cannot be silent about this and we need to remind about this when parallels begin to be drawn. They put people in a train in Kosovo and tried to empty it. We know what has happened in Bosnia and what has culminated in genocide; not the creation of a crisis and starting a quarrel. They are starting the problem, again from Belgrade," Izetbegovic told Voice of America, the Sarajevo-based portal Klikx.ba reports.

Izetbegovic adds that he believes that if Serbia recognizes Kosovo's independence, all radars will turn to BiH.

"With propaganda, all will be done to mitigate the effects that it will have on Serbian society. It will be a problem in Serbia if it happens, and I do not know if it will. There will be a storm, anxiety and an appetite towards BiH, and pressure will be supported from Banja Luka," said Izetbegovic, adding that international community's reaction will be tested, as a shock absorber, and then it will be decided on new steps, or it will be stopped.

'' I do not think they will, really, go in that direction. Trying to finish Karadzic's project that culminated in genocide, I would say that they will not dare," concluded Izetbegovic.
