Izetbegovic: "If Serbia recognizes Kosovo, all radars will turn towards BiH" (Tanjug, B92, Klix.ba)

Bakir Izetbegovic, president of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), told Voice of America that he believes that in case Serbia recognizes Kosovo's independence, all radars will turn to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Izetbegovic commented on the possible outcome of Belgrade-Pristina relations, but also the relationship between BiH and Kosovo, and sees the only link between Kosovo and BiH in that "the same side that has done the violence against Albanians on Kosovo, and in BiH against the Bosniaks ".

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic responded to criticism of the Bosniac member of Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency, Bakir Izetbegovic, by asking what Izetbegovic has to do with Kosovo, Serbian media reported.

In an interview for Klix.ba portal Izetbegovic said that “Vucic talks about peace, while getting armament,” and he believes “Vucic tries with strong words to please and calm down radical part of the Serbian public, before he undertakes certain moves in relation to Kosovo, that could cause resistance (…).”

Bakir Izetbegovic saying that he hopes Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) will recognize Kosovo represented "a dangerous provocation."

This is according to former US Ambassador to Serbia William Montgomery.

Montgomery added that he "hoped the international community will react strongly and condemn this statement."
