Membership of Kosovo in Interpol would jeopardize that professional police organization, Serbian Internal Affairs Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said, BETA news agency reported.

Stefanovic told the Czech Ambassador Tomas Kuchta that the latest vote at the Interpol General Assembly in Dubai showed that many countries do not support Kosovo request for membership nor do they want the police organization to become political.

A ministry press release added that the Minister Stefanovic and Ambassador Kutcha also discussed police cooperation, adding that existing cooperation is good but there is a room for improvement especially in combating organized crime and terrorism.  Stefanovic and Kuchta also discussed border management and migration.
