Djuric: Pristina's platform “commits premeditated murder of dialogue” (FoNet, TV N1, TV Pink)
Pristina's platform on the dialogue on normalization of relations with Belgrade hammers the last nail in the talks’ coffin and commits “premeditated murder of the dialogue,” Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director Marko Djuric said, FoNet news agency reported today.
Djuric added Serbia and its people had been under intense pressure because of the disagreement with the document, and with the 100 percent import tariffs Pristina introduced on goods from Serbia last November.
Djuric noted the threats include the takeover of industrial Trepca complex, the largest employer in northern Kosovo, and an atmosphere suggests it is just a question of time when the Albanians will try to do something physically.
The only reason why Albanians are still reluctant to do so, according to Djuric, is their awareness of a different situation, maturity and readiness in Serbia, unlike the one that existed in March 2004, to protect its state and national interest in Kosovo.
On March 17, 2004, the worst ethnic violence since the end of the 1999 conflict erupted in Kosovo. In Serbia, the riots are known as March Pogrom. Hundreds of people were injured, and number of people lost their lives. Many Serbian Orthodox Church shrines were destroyed and damaged, houses and residential objects as well, while number of Serbs were forces to leave towns and villages in Kosovo.
