DSS: Haradinaj’s summon is political decision of Kosovo independence promoters (Danas)

Summoning of Ramush Haradinaj to The Hague Special Court for war crimes is a political decision of Kosovo independence promoters, the opposition Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) has said, Danas daily reports. “Weren’t Ramush Haradinaj on two occasions already in 2008 and 2012 legally acquitted of the previous charges for committed war crimes by the Hague Tribunal, his latest invitation to the court to be interviewed as a suspect could be termed as good news. Beyond doubt this is about political decision of the sponsors of Kosovo secession and an attempt to remove, or at least politically marginalize hardcore leader of the former KLA, and give advantage to more cooperative Hashim Thaci,” DSS said in a statement. The DSS added “if Haradinaj gets deserved punishment, which remains fully uncertain, it would not be due to belated justice, but only because he represents a disturbing element for the swift continuation of a dialogue on the final status of Kosovo (…)”.
