Spahiu: Albanians leaving Kosovo due to Isa Mustafa’s high treason (Kontakt Plus Radio)
Albanians are leaving Kosovo because ruling authorities didn’t change, because the will of people was not respected, and the biggest responsibility for such situation is on the Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, who betrayed his electoral, analyst and professor of the political science at Pristina-based AAB University, Nedzmedin Spahiu, said to Kontakt Plus Radio.
“Isa Mustafa took over a responsibility for such situation as soon as he committed the high treason. During election campaign he promised that he will make a coalition with any party apart of PDK (Democratic Party of Kosovo), than he betrayed all parties and made the coalition exactly with that party,” said Spahiu, and added that by doing so, a hope was taken away from Kosovo citizens that there will be any changes in Kosovo, thus they don’t have any perspective nor hope for any progress.
According to him, Kosovo government can’t prevent people from leaving Kosovo and whatever they do would have a counter-effect and migration would even grow higher, and by implementation of the Brussels Agreement Albanians find it easier to reach Western Europe. He said that now when Albanians can travel through Serbian with their Kosovo IDs, and determined as they are to leave, they would use every opportunity they have.
He went on to say that international community is also responsible for massive migration of Albanians from Kosovo. “International community is partially responsible. At the moment when they were supposed to intervene and assist in order that a democratic government is formed, following elections, they insisted that PDK and Hashim Thaci remain in power, even though they were in power in previous two mandates. That is a catastrophic and huge mistake,” said Spahiu and added that such mistake comes as a burden to Kosovo citizens, region and wider, considering states which are now faced by asylum seekers.
