Veselinovic: What the government is hiding from the public (Danas)
Janko Veselinovic, a representative of the Movement for the turnaround (Pokret za Preokret), asked Maja Gojkovic, president of the Serbian Parliament to urgently convene a session of the Serbian Parliament in which the MPs will learn the contents of the agreement signed in Brussels on 25 August. The office of Parliament President, however, reminded Veselinovic to the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure.
"The Assembly of Serbia is in the period of scheduling extraordinary sessions and they can be scheduled only at the request of the Government of Serbia, or one third of the members. Having that in mind, President has not received such a request," was said from the cabinet of Gojkovic.
Beside request to the presidents of the Parliament, Veselinovic sent the initiative for scheduling the extraordinary session to the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic. In the initiative was requested that MPs will be informed about the contents of the agreement signed in Brussels on 25 August 2015, between the representatives of the Serbian government and the provisional administration in Pristina.
"MPs were only able to learn some details of these agreements from the media. Since they relate to the legal status of Kosovo and Metohija as well as issues relevant to the life of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, the MPs must be familiar with the contents of the agreement in an official form, including versions of the agreement in English and Serbian language, " was said in the initiative. As stated, Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija claim that the agreements are bad, while government officials say the opposite.
