The draft resolution on Kosovo in CoE (Vecernje Novosti)

The Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the CoE adopted in Brussels, the preliminary draft resolution "The situation in Kosovo and the role of the Council of Europe." The report deals with the issues related to the respect for human rights, rule of law, the position of minorities in Kosovo and democracy.

Members of the Serbian delegation, Aleksandra Djurovic and Zarko Obradovic took part in the work of the Committee and in the debate on the situation in Kosovo.  A delegation of the Serbian Parliament proposed four amendments that have been accepted in the Committee.

The amendments called Pristina authorities to implement the provisions of the Brussels Agreement related to the formation of A/ CSM, called for the improvement of  police cooperation within the framework of existing mechanisms between UNMIK and Interpol, the rejection of membership of Kosovo in UNESCO and support for the processing of war crimes. "We are satisfied with the work of Rapporteur and the fact that the Committee adopted a resolution, because it contains a number of recommendations that will enable the implementation of CoE standards in Kosovo," said Djurovic.
