Jevtic: Opening of chapters, important news for the Kosovo Serbs (Blic, RTS)
Minister for Communities and Returns in the Kosovo government Dalibor Jevtic said tonight that the opening of the first chapters of the EU with Serbia were extremely important news for the Serbs in Kosovo.
- For those of us who live in Kosovo, opening of chapters is important, but also that everything agreed in Brussels will be implemented - he said in a statement to RTS.
He said that all, including the Serbs in Kosovo, want to be part of the big European family in the future which would provide and guarantee all rights when it comes to people's lives.
Jevtic also says that current developments in Kosovo are not good.
-There are a lot of problems in the political life of Kosovo, and for Pristina, it is not easy to implement the agreements from Brussels. However the commitments made and signed have to be implemented, and these expectations has and the international community, which is the guarantor - he points out.
Jevtic expresses belief that behind the political crisis lies one's desire to amend the principles underlying the agreements from Brussels.
-If the Constitutional Court decides that Association of Serbian Municipalities is not in accordance with the Constitution, changes will be sought. That's not good - he said.
In the European process, Jevtic says, it is a lie to say that the party which fails to fulfil its obligations must take responsibility and cannot block another.
