Dikovic: Decision on Trepca threat to security in Kosovo (Tanjug)
Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff Gen Ljubisa Dikovic Monday urged KFOR to take all measures to maintain peace and security for the citizens of Kosovo-Metohija, pointing to a "fragile" security situation in the province after the decision of the Kosovo authorities on Trepca.
Dikovic stressed, during a meeting with KFOR Commander Major General Giovanni Fungo, that the unilateral decision of the interim institutions in Pristina in relation to the status of the Trepca mining complex poses a "threat to the fragile security situation in Kosovo-Metohija", a statement of the Ministry of Defense said.
Dikovic stated that KFOR has to ensure safety and security to all the people of Kosovo-Metohija.
This was the first meeting of the two generals since General Fungo assumed his duties as KFOR Commander in September, the Ministry's website published.
