Simić: The adopted laws violate Kosovo's constitution (Politika, Blic)

The laws on Trepča and strategic investments violate many articles of the Kosovo constitution and therefore one should expect the court to show impartiality and to repeal the laws, says the head of the parliamentary group of the Serbian List Slavko Simić.

"Many are aware of the fact that the law is impossible to implement in the municipalities, which have the largest capacities of ores and minerals, supporting infrastructure and also the fact that it is impossible to change the ethnic organization and working structure. Therefore, after any decision of the Constitutional Court, through constructive ideas we will seek a solution, if not in Brussels then here in our Kosmet," Simić told daily Politika.

About the freeze of the activities of the representatives of the Serbian List in the government and parliament, Simic said that it meant not to give legitimacy to the work of the institutions and their bodies as long as there is a persistent attempt to adopt laws with unilateral legal basis, and not to give an alibi to any institution that seeks to lead them in a position of a complete deprivation of rights.

"With this type of political protest we are sending a message that we want to be heard, and to take into account and respect the messages and requests of the Serbian community," said the Head of the parliamentary group of the Serbian List.
