Serbian list: Conditions not met for the return to the institutions of Kosovo (RFE, Blic, KIM radio)
President of the Serbian List Slavko Simić says that conditions are not yet matured enough for the return of the MPs and ministers to the Kosovo institutions, although there is a will and that they are waiting the creation of normal conditions to do so.
Simić said this for Radio Free Europe (RFE), adding that the Kosovo Assembly and the government have no sufficient legitimacy, if representatives of the Serbian community do not participate.
He expects on 15 December to enter into force the Agreement on telecommunications, which was reached in Brussels and that this should be a date when will begin and implementation of the Agreement of the Community of Serbian Municipalities (ZSO).
- Of course if something positive happens and if it starts thawing of the process of formation of the ZSO, certainly this will be a positive step for the MPs from the Serbian community to return and discuss with its coalition partners and define many questions. After that, we would make a decision on our participation in the institutions - said Simić.
President of the Serbian List says that the ZSO is not a requirement for the representatives of Serbs to decide to unfreeze participation in Kosovo institutions.
The formation of the ZSO is the obligation of the authorities of Kosovo, Simić says, and given that the Serbian community wants the process to begin, the deputies of the Serbian List are obliged to return to the institution and to participate in the drafting of the statute.
The adoption of the law on Trepča and the law on strategic investments were the reason of the boycott of the government and parliament of Kosovo by the MPs and ministers from the Serbian List, because they have considered these laws as unfavourable for the vital interests of the Serbian community.
