Odalović: The evidence is there, we hope the criminals will be punished (Blic)
Secretary General of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and President of the Government's Commission for Missing Persons Veljko Odalović believes that the new Special Court will provide answers to some questions regarding the crimes committed in Kosovo, and that perpetrators will be punished, and victims and their families will get peace and satisfaction, reports daily Blic today.
Speaking of these crimes, Odalović identified three, as he said, heavy crimes committed by members of the KLA on the territory of Kosovo - miners kidnapped at Belaćevac mine the end of June 1998, an attack on civilians from the Orahovac area the same year and the killing of reapers in 1999.
He warned that as long as the perpetrators of these crimes are at large and in public functions with "ambitions to be the heads of state and governments of fictitious territories," this says that that the problem is not solved.
- These are the wrong idols, the wrong profiles of people, who must not be left without sanctions - said Odalović.
Referring to the results of extraordinary parliamentary elections in Kosovo, especially the coalition gathered around Thaçi's and Haradinaj's party, Odalović estimates, for daily Blic, that their freedom is a consequence of a global silence and avoidance of prosecuting those who committed certain crimes.
