Kosovo Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa and Minister of Internal Affairs, Skender Hyseni are optimistic that Kosovo would join Interpol at the event scheduled for 26 September in Beijing, Serbian informative portal Insajder reported yesterday late in the afternoon.

PM Mustafa said he has received invitation to attend the Interpol Assembly as a Prime Minister, where Kosovo membership to Interpol is on the agenda and he hopes it will happen (that Kosovo becomes a member).

“We have spoken with our international friends and we are in the process of harmonizing activates aiming to become Interpol member. Of course, the membership does not depend upon us, because we are there as observers. It depends upon other members and what support we will have there. However, the fact that membership of Kosovo became a topic on  the agenda of the Interpol Executive Committed, despite the fact there were countries that do not accept Kosovo, gives us a hope we would overcome it,” Mustafa said.
