Thaci: Agreement through dialogue (Telegrafi)
Following a meeting between Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) representatives with Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga, PDK leader Hashim Thaci told reporters that this was another meeting in a series of consultations aimed at forming the new institutions.
“We had a correct meeting. We appreciate President Jahjaga’s commitment to pave way to an agreement for the formation of institutions. The position of the PDK is known: full respect for the will of the people, for election results and for the decisions of the Constitutional Court,” Thaci said. “Once again we call on the whole political spectrum to try to find a solution through dialogue. An agreement is needed to proceed with the formation of institutions”.
Thaci also said the PDK would respect constitutional and legal timelines and added that everyone needs to respect the process initiated by President Jahjaga. “I believe we can reach the right conclusion, a conclusion that is expected by the people of Kosovo, the international community and our partners. We will respond to every initiative that is in full compliance with the Constitution, the regulation of the Kosovo Assembly. Meanwhile, unofficial and illegal initiatives have no validity,” he added.
