Kosovo’s leaders have reacted after a series of explosions struck the Brussels airport and the metro system this morning. Kosovo President-elect Hashim Thaci took to Twitter writing “shocking news coming in from Brussels today. My sincere condolences to the families of all the victims”. Prime Minister Isa Mustafa sent a telegram note condemning the terrorist acts and expressing the readiness of the Kosovo government to continue the fight against terror. “The consequent terror attacks are proof of the need for the democratic world to come together against this evil and terrorist attacks aimed against the democratic order… We are committed and we will cooperate with the democratic world in fighting acts that go against the lives of free citizens and democracy in the world,” Mustafa wrote. Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), reacted following the Brussels attacks saying that it is a common tragedy. “I am shocked by today’s terror attacks in Brussels. My condolences to the families of victims and to the people and the government of Belgium. What is happening today in the capital of Europe is our shared tragedy. We must all stand up against this. This is a joint front and everyone must be a soldier in this,” Haradinaj said.
