Lunacek: Implementation of agreements, priority of the new phase of dialogue (RTK)
The European Parliament Vice-President and Rapporteur for Kosovo, Urlike Lunacek, said that implementation of the reached agreements should be priority of the new phase of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, in order to reach complete normalization of the relations. “We should still wait and see the results of the renewed dialogue. Complete implementation should be priority, being that both parties already gave their consent for the agreements such as energy and freedom of movement. Each party should work on implementation of these agreements and it should not be waiting for the other party. EU should continue to insist on implementation of the agreements in order to reach complete normalization of the relations between Kosovo and Serbia,” Lunacek said.
According to her, Brussels dialogue will continue to be difficult due to the lack of mutual trust, as well lack of implementation of the reached agreements.
“EU should monitor implementation of the agreements reached through dialogue and report in regular basis to the all interested parties, including the European Parliament,” Lunacek said. She appealed to the new government in Kosovo, no matter which coalition manages to form it, to have constructive approach and be completely engaged in the dialogue.
